This small patch fixes a few errors and omissions in the v1 initial release, both download and CD-ROM. It should be extracted to your main FS9 directory and allowed to overwrite all files. Includes:
● Missing Landing Gear and Flap sounds
● Sets neutral trim in the "TBM-3 #4 On Short-Final to the USS Langley" Start-up Flight, which had been mistakenly saved with catapult takeoff settings.
● Deletes the Beta notation in all Kneeboard Checklist and Reference pages

This file will correct the fuselage texture in the repaint set for tbf-1_vc-84.zip. The original repaint was for a TBF-1, which was incorrect. The aircraft depicted is No.4 - J4, which photographs show to have been a TBM-3. An updated readme and installation instructions are included. This update must be used with the the textures in the original repaint file named tbf-1_vc-84.zip. Repaint by Steve Bryant based on original textures by Todd Disrud and the Avenger paint kit by Jan Visser.

TBF-1 AVENGER S8 TEXTURES
File Size - 3.7 MB
TBF-1 Avenger, unit and date unknown. However, the apparent freshly painted markings of the "summer '43" red surround star and over-painted markings suggest summer or fall of 1943, and possibly recently transferred to a new unit or the old unit has been redesignated as evidenced by the painted over "A 7" and a newly painted "S 8." Repaint by Steve Bryant based on the paint kit by Jan Visser.

BATTLE OF MIDWAY AND BATTLE OF THE CORAL SEA SCENERY
by Yanco
These scenery files have no actual connection with the MAAM-SIM Avenger, and if they did, the Scenery Free Stuff Page might seem to be the logical place for it. But I am placing this set of files here because it is such a perfect companion for the Turkey. Calling it a "scenery" is in itself doing the creation a disservice, as it is more of a complete FS experience than anything I have every encountered before. Look at the screenshots, most by the author, Yanco, taken from the downloads. The ones featuring the Avenger, are the only exceptions...
There are five zips that make up this epic creation housed at "Yanko's Toy Box". Click on the titles below to download:

INSTALLATION: Install the five archives in the order, above. In each case, dump the folders Addon Scenery, Aircraft, and Effects folders, only into the main FS9 directory. Allow files to be overwritten as you go. After all this is done, activate the sceneries in the FS9 Scenery Library. There will be just three sceneries to activate: MIDWAY-flaten, MIDWAY-J, and MIDWAY_A. Make sure the "flaten" is a lower number (higher on the scenery area priority list) than the others.
CARRIER OPERATIONS: You can make arrested landings on all of the American and Japanese carriers with the Carrier Operations Package, as installed in the Avenger. Here is a dsd_arrester_zone.ini file including all the carriers for both battles, as well as the USS Langley off Okinawa and in the Puget Sound. There are no catapults on the battle fleets, and you will need to adjust the weather to incorporate an appropriate headwind.
SETTINGS: You can witness, or take part in the different phases of these two great battles by setting the time of day. You need not set the date. Refer to the readme's for the schedules of takeoffs, landings, and attacks. To see everything, you will need to set your Scenery Complexity to at least Very Dense. Also, remember to turn on your Traffic. To avoid some peculiar, unwanted effects, turn off the Aircraft Shadows.
LOCATION:
Both Fleets at the Battle of Midway can be found in the Go To Airport Menu under
United States - Midway Islands.
The American Fleet at Coral Sea is listed under Australia - Coral Sea.
The Japanese Fleet at Coral Sea is under Papua New Guinea - Coral Sea.
I think you will find these amazing "sceneries" the perfect setting to fly your new Avengers. I also want to express our admiration for what Yanko San has accomplished. I can only imagine how many hours went into the creation of this monumental freeware masterpiece!
