a Christmas present

from the

mid-Atlantic air museum

The museum and its volunteer team of FS developers, MAAM-SIM, are pleased to announce the release of a holiday gift for owners of their popular Douglas R4D / DC-3 CD-ROM fro FS2002 and FS2004.

The free add-on is the C-47A OY-BPB, owned and operated by The Association for Flying Museums Planes / Danish Dakota Friends.  The team's virtual virtuoso aircraft designer, Jan Visser, has been at work for months on the special release, and it's stuffed like a Christmas stocking with new goodies...

Amazingly detailed photo-real engine textures and propeller hub mechanisms grace the P&W 1830-92's.

OY-BPB's modern antennae and rotating v-stab beacon are faithfully duplicated.

Anti-static "whiskers" are attached to the control surfaces, and the exhaust stacks have been remodeled.

There's a new 24-seat cabin.

The passenger door has a rare window, and the cargo door can be operated separately from it.

Notice the new fairings under the center wing.

A new landing light effect casts a wash of light on the P&W's.

As with all of Jan's MAAM-SIM aircraft, photo-real textures abound.

Our other Jan, effects specialist Jan Rosenberg, has provided new start-up smoke and exhaust flash to match the new pipes.

Of course, OY-BPB utilizes the incomparable virtual cockpit and 2D panels of the R4D.

You must have the MAAM-SIM R4D / DC-3 installed in FS2002 or 2004 before you can operate the self-installer for our "Danish pastry".

The MAAM-SIM Douglas R4D / DC-3 CD-ROM includes all of these Gmax aircraft:

  ● MAAM's R4D-6 in both bare-metal and silver painted versions

  ● United Airlines DC-3A Mainliner "City of San Francisco"

  ● British European Airways "Sir Eric Geddes" DC-3A Freighter

  ● XC-47C Amphibian in Army prototype and Folsoms Air Service paint (FS2004 only, but FS2002 coming soon)

Supplementing the planes are an extensively illustrated User's Manual with embedded instructional videos filmed aboard the real R4D-6 #50819 and a World War II vintage Pilot's Training Manual.

In the works and appearing soon will be more C-47 and DC-3 variations that will be the basis for many repaints and versions.   As with OY-BPB, all of these upcoming aircraft will be released as free add-ons, increasing the value of your R4D / DC-3 package.

So if you don't already have our lovely Douglas in your hangar, check it out and order your CD today by visiting our new web pages.   It sells for $30 and worldwide delivery is only $4.95.   And remember, all proceeds go to support the restoration programs of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum - not a portion - all of the money!

While you're there, have a good look around, and be sure you don't miss the FREE STUFF link.  You'll find all kinds of other free goodies there to enhance your enjoyment of the R4D / DC-3 and B-25J 'Briefing Time' packages.
