MAAM-SIM Releases Free B-25J ‘Briefing Time’ Bare-Metal Skin

If you want to dazzle the eyes of the admiring spectators while you practice for this year’s AVSIM Flight Simulation Convention and Exhibition Fly-Off (that’s the AFSCEFO for you acronym lovers ;-), now you can!  MAAM-SIM has released the first of a planned series of freeware texture sets by Jan Visser for their Gold Medal Award-winning Mitchell add-on for FS2002.

You’ll need the full-version of the B-25J ‘Briefing Time’ aircraft package in order to use this skin.  You can get the CD, including all the extra vintage manuals and videos, from www.maam.org .  The museum gets the most bang from your buck if you order the CD.  But if you just have to have it this instant, you can download the aircraft-only package from the AVSIM Store.

The Bare-Metal Skin “bt_metal.zip” is in the File Library.  Be sure to follow the installation instructions carefully, because there is an essential step you must perform after the self-installer does its job.

Lest you think our “bare-naked” lady is playing fast and loose with history, take a look at this…

Briefing Time, before she got a coat of olive-drab on her upper surfaces.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few more thousand’s worth…

As gorgeous as Jan’s screenshots are, you just have to see the reflections moving on that highly-polished aluminum to fully appreciate this flashy gal.   So stop wasting time – go get her!

Then, go sign up for the Briefing Time Low Level Lottery and you could be one of four lucky flight sim enthusiasts who get to crew BT on a special sight-seeing trip at the convention.  See you at MAAM in September!
