MAAM-SIM RELEASES NEW CD EDITIONS
MAAM-SIM is pleased to announce that the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum is now delivering new editions of their award-winning aircraft add-on packages for FS2004 and FS2002.

The Douglas R4D / DC-3 / C-47 CD is now in its 8th Edition and the North American B-25J 'Briefing Time' CD is in its 5th Edition.
From it's birth in 1999, MAAM-SIM, then known as "The R4D Team", has provided numerous free enhancements for download by it's customers. These have included not only different liveries, but complete new aircraft models, genuine pilot's and technical manuals, repaint kits, panel and gauge options and upgrades, original scenery, and more...
It has always been the policy of MAAM-SIM to include patches, upgrades, and selected enhancements on our CD's by means of new editions. Unlike other FS add-on companies, MAAM-SIM develops, produces, burns, sells, and ships their own CD's. Because every bit of the process is performed by unpaid museum volunteer members, costs are kept to a minimum and donations to the aircraft restoration fund are maximized. But a side benefit is that the team can constantly upgrade the product.
For instance, soon after a bare metal version of 'Briefing Time' was released as a free enhancement a new edition of the CD was produced including the shiny ship...

Likewise, when the solid-nose, 'Falcon' gunship model of the B-25J was released, a new edition was burned to include it...

The 5th Edition B-25J 'Briefing Time' CD now includes the Panel Upgrades for both FS2002 and FS2004...

This upgrade makes all the pop-up auxiliary panels undockable, facilitating pop-up use in spot plane and tower view modes as well as in multi-monitor rigs. All auxiliary panels can be undocked, resized, and repositioned as desired. It also includes a new mini-panel that uses Briefing Time's own gauges, rather than those of the default Cessna.

When we added the rare and little-known XC-47C Amphibian to the hangar as a free add-on for R4D CD owners, it appeared on the next edition of the CD...

Now, the 8th Edition CD includes the recently released D-Day C-47 'Skytrain' and Dakota Mk III Expansion Pack...

In addition to what makes it onto the CD's, the museum's Free Stuff page is chock full of dozens of other free enhancements by MAAM-SIM developers as well as links to numerous repaints by outside contributors. Here are just a few of the many available...
These in-game screenshots show some of the features and the "extreme photo-realism" that have become the hallmark of MAAM-SIM and have helped make these two products the best reviewed add-on aircraft you can buy for Flight Simulator 2004 and 2002...

You can only obtain the new editions of the MAAM-SIM CDs directly from the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's On-Line Store or by mail or phone order from the museum. The price is $30 for the R4D / DC-3 / C-47 and $25 for the B-25J 'Briefing Time'. Each will be shipped via airmail anywhere in the world for $4.95, or $7.95 for both. All sale proceeds go directly to the restoration programs of the museum, including the full renovation of the R4D-6 #50819 scheduled for this fall and winter.
If you already own an earlier version of the B-25J 'Briefing Time' or the Gmax * designed Douglas R4D / DC-3 CD, you can upgrade your installation free by downloading enhancements from the Free Stuff page.
* Note: The non-Gmax "R4D Team" Douglas R4D, originally designed for FS98 and upgraded through FS2002, is not compatible with FS2004 or any of the enhancements on the Free Stuff page. If your CD is not marked MAAM-SIM, you have this older model and will need to purchase the totally new R4D / DC-3 / C-47 CD in order to take advantage of these features. The current product was designed from scratch and is not an upgrade of the previous aircraft package.
