MAAM-SIM ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF R4D / DC-3 REPAINT TEMPLATES
Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont, known in the flightsim world for his stunning repaints and templates of the team's original FS2002 R4D, has joined MAAM-SIM as its seventh developer. The team is proud to have Mark, long a contributor to the DC-3 project, apply his talents as an official member of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum Simulations development team, coinciding with the release of his long-awaited repaint template kit for the popular R4D / DC-3 add-on for FS2004 and FS2002. Mark will continue in his role assisting Jan Visser in aircraft texturing and take over the directon of the "BTBT", MAAM-SIM's beta test team.
Mark is also VP - Fleet at the DC-3 Airways VA, for which he has produced a number of repaints of the MAAM-SIM ships in the DCA company liveries...

The new repaint template kit, called "MAAMkit1.zip", includes texture templates in bare-metal...

...as well as the white-topped version that was and is the basis of so many of the world's DC-3 liveries...

Repaint templates for both the passenger and cargo version of the MAAM-SIM DC-3 are included in each of these formats with or without de-icer boots.
Textures even include the choice of three different seat colors for the passenger ship' sumptuous leather interior...

The template kit comes with a basic instruction manual and sample documentation for potential repaint uploaders. The kit is intended for user's with some repainting knowledge and skill, or for those willing to learn from one of the available tutorials on repainting available here and other FS sites. These templates will not work with the default FS9 DC-3.
The MAAM-SIM R4D / DC-3 CD may be obtained from the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum for $34.95, delivered anywhere in the world. It includes the museum's famous U.S. Naval Air Transport Service R4D-6 #50819 in both her present day, weathered silver paint...

...as well as in pristine bare-metal...

Also in the package are the United Air Lines Mainliner "City of San Francisco"...

...and the British European Airways freighter, "Sir Eric Geddes", complete with cargo that can be loaded and unloaded...

All four Douglas aircraft are present for both FS2002 and FS2004. As a bonus, the MAAM-SIM KRDG / MAAM by Bill Womack is included on the CD. The multi-media User's Manual features 12 instructional videos filmed aboard #50819 in which MAAM President Russ Strine explains every phase of operation of the aircraft. Finally, a genuine, WW2 Pilot Training Manual rounds out the CD contents.
Free add-ons planned for the MAAM-SIM R4D / DC-3 include numerous liveries, a Wright Cyclone powered model, a ski-equipped DC-3, and a soon-to-be-released amphibian, the ultra-rare XC-47C...

All seven MAAM-SIM developers are volunteers and 100% of the proceeds of sales go to support the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum and its restoration programs.
