B-25J 'Briefing Time' Limited Edition Art Print by Kenn Berry #16753
This limited edition art print represents our own B-25J “Briefing Time”. This plane operated with the 489th Bomb Squadron, 340th Bomb Group, 57th Bomb Wing of the 12th Air Force in World War II, and is illustrated as she appeared on 26 April, 1945. Based in Corsica and the Italian mainland, “Briefing Time” achieved the remarkable record of 126 bombing sorties without ever turning back because of mechanical failure. It shared credit for the sinking of the Italian cruiser “Taranto”.
The “Mitchell”, built by the North American Aircraft Company, .was named in honor General Billy Mitchell, and was selected by General Jimmy Doolittle for the famous Raid on Tokyo.
Widely regarded as the finest medium bomber of the war, the B-25 was loved by her crews for her ruggedness, reliability and ease of maintenance. The Mitchell was used by the U.S.Army Air Forces, Navy and Marine Corps, as well as the Royal Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force and the Soviet Air Force, in theaters from Europe to North Africa to the South Pacific.
The original was drawn, by Kenn Berry, whose 35 year career in the art world has included writing, teaching, advertising photography, architectural model building and fine art digital illustration.
This is not a poster. Posters are printed hundreds, or even thousands at a time, on high speed offset presses, on lightweight paper and can never match the high fidelity or level of detail that Giclees offer.
With the Giclee process, the image is printed slowly, one at a time, in virtually continuous tone, capturing all the classic beauty of this famous aircraft.
Each Giclee is printed by the artist, then numbered, titled and dated. The edition is limited to 500, and once that number is reached, the print will never be offered again.
This is the 30th in a series of Classic World Aircraft.
Edition size is 500.
Print size is 22 by 11 inches.
