There are ten places to sit in the B-24. They include the bomb bay, radio operator’s area and the waist gunner’s area. There are no reserved seats on the B-24. This is because as soon as the aircraft is airborne you can get up and move throughout the aircraft… from the cockpit to the tail gunner’s position. You will be able to stand behind the pilots and see the controls and instruments. From there you can move back through the bomb bay and see replicas of the 500 lb. bombs used throughout the war. Next you will stand in the open waist gunner’s position behind a 50 caliber machine gun and imagine the freezing air pouring in as the Messerschmitts bear down with guns ablaze. Furthest back is the tail gunner’s position with a panoramic view.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RIDERS:

 

• Rides are available by advance reservation from the CAF  B-29/B-24 Squadron. Payment must be made at the time the seat is booked online. All major credit cards are accepted. 
   

• Walk-up reservations may be available at the Air Power History Tour Ride Desk.  Only credit cards and cash are accepted as forms of payment at the ride desk.  Checks are not accepted. 
   

• Passengers must check in at the CAF Air Power History Tour Ride Desk at least one hour prior to their scheduled flight.  Passengers should have photo ID and proof of payment at the time of check-in.
   

• "Diamond Lil" flies at an altitude of less than 10,000 feet and has an open-air, unpressurized cabin that holds ten passengers.  Her flight crew consists of four experienced, highly trained pilots, engineers and scanner.
   

• Cameras are the only baggage allowed on flights.
   

• Passengers must be at least 12 years of age.
   

•  All riders must be able to physically climb in and out of the aircraft under their own power, including climbing a ladder and entering through a hatch without undue difficulty.  No one requiring supplemental oxygen for normal activities will be allowed on ride flights. .
   

• Any ride cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled at the discretion of the flight crew, if time permits.
